We are pleased to inform that in order to further strengthen our business development actions going forward, the following changes within the Electric & Gas segment unit responsibilities have taken place as of Sep 4, 2017.
Pekka Hämäläinen, who has successfully led the segment organization over the past 8 years, has accepted the role as Regional Director, Asia-Pacific. Pekka, who has a foundational work history of 35 years at Tekla and Trimble as a leader and an innovator, has for some time expressed his passion to focus his work to this region of great investments on energy infrastructure. In his new role, Pekka will lead our sales and business partner network development and management in the APAC.
It is our great pleasure to announce that Tarmo Mere has accepted the role of Segment Director, Electric & Gas. Tarmo joins Trimble from Elektrilevi, the electric distribution company of Eesti Energia, where he has successfully carried out the CEO position for the past 9 years. During his leadership, Elektrilevi has developed into one of the best performing and managed distribution companies in Northern Europe. Before taking the CEO position in the company, Tarmo was responsible for the asset management for Elektrilevi. Tarmo will be carrying out his role from the Trimble Solutions Espoo office. His responsibilities will include the Electric & Gas sales, consultation and partner management, excluding regionally the Americas, Sweden and Norway.

Trimble Dimensions 2016 User Conference was held on 7-9 November at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. The event hosted more than 4,400 participants representing electric and natural gas utilities and a number of other industries. The three-day action-packed event was filled with lectures, presentations, workshops and a technology exhibition featuring the latest in Trimble technology, solutions and products.
The most anticipated presentation was the demo of Trimble SketchUp viewer for Microsoft HoloLens. The application was released at Trimble Dimensions and is the first commercial application available for HoloLens at Windows Store.
